Skills Assessment

As a NCCER Accredited Skills Assessment Center, the SBE Training Center offers a complete series of entry- and journey-level assessments. These assessments evaluate the knowledge and skill level of an individual in a specific craft area. All assessments are based upon the Contren® Learning Series curriculum and have been developed in conjunction with NCCER’s test development partner.

Many companies use skill assessment to verify the ability of their employees to do specific tasks required on a job. Skills assessment verification can be used as a pre-employment, bidding, and/or quality and productivity improvement tool. Increasingly, contractors are being required to prove their companies competencies through the use of NCCER skills assessment before they bid a job.

Because Contren® is modular in format; each Module can be treated as a separate task-training unit. The SBE Training Center can provide a training program that may encompass single Modules or the entire Craft. Employers may even customize their own training programs by combining modules across the various craft areas. Whatever the training requirements, Contren® can be easily adapted to cost-effectively meet the needs of your company.
